Hello,
I’m Clarinda Cerejo and I head Editage Insights, a large global community of researchers. I’m writing to invite you to participate in a global initiative that I believe can really make a difference to your life.
You, of all people, would know how challenging and tough it is to be a researcher! You are one of over 7.8 million researchers in the world working in high-performance, hypercompetitive, and stress-inducing environments. While the world is always awaiting new research discoveries, everyone tends to focus on what researchers are thinking, rarely on how they are feeling. We want to change this!
I recently learned that researchers are six times more likely to experience clinical anxiety and depression than the general population! I was heartbroken by this. But it also got me thinking about you, specifically how you as a researcher go through your day-to-day life. For example, does your work environment motivate you? How do you manage your work and personal life? Do you receive enough support from your supervisors? What would you want to see changed in your current environment?
In order to capture the global researcher community’s thoughts on this, we're running a large scale survey on the highs and lows of academic life. And I’d personally love for you to take this survey and share your inputs (it will take less than 10 minutes). Taking this survey is an excellent opportunity for you to let decision-makers in academia know which aspects of your work cause you immense stress, and the kind of support they can provide to help you deal with this stress.
More than 3000 researchers have already taken the survey to help initiate change and create a healthier research environment. And I’d love to have you join this global movement.
Take the survey now!
Feel free to get in touch with me if you need any more information or have questions about the survey. I’d be happy to tell you more.
Warm regards,
Clarinda
